NuWu Sessions: Shavo Odadjian from System of a Down, 22Red

In the sixth episode of NuWu Sessions, the crew is beyond stoked to have Shavo Odadjian, bassist for GRAMMY award winning heavy metal band System of a Down, as well as founder and CEO of Los Angeles born cannabis lifestyle brand 22Red. The acclaimed musician and weed connoisseur sits down with host Tom and smokes a VIP package provided by the Vegas Tasting Room, Sin City’s first and only cannabis consumption lounge. We also discuss the origins and inspiration behind 22Red, now cultivating and selling in three states - Arizona, California, and of course, Nevada. The brand is building their repertoire on celebrating the ‘underground culture’ - from cannabis, skating, music, fashion, and art, as well as introducing consumers with beautiful, exotic strains exclusive to the brand, including Strangelove, 22AM, and Angry Apple. 22Red is the culmination of Shavo’s synesthesia (he associates the number 2 with the color red), as well as interest in numerology. 22 is a significant recurring number in Shavo’s personal life - his birthday is April 22, he was married May 22, System of a Down signed their first major record label with legendary producer Rick Rubin back when Shavo was 22 years old, and his children are born two months and 22 days apart.
