NuWu Sessions: Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony

In a very special episode of NuWu Sessions, we are incredibly proud to have Grammy award-winning musician Krayzie Bone. Originally coming onto the scene with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, influencing an entire generation of musicians with their game-changing hip-hop records, Krayzie has also successfully embarked on several solo projects, with his latest album, Krayzie Melodies: Melodious, Vol. 1 out April 22. The album marks a new journey for Krayzie, as he describes to our NuWu Sessions host Deejay the level of experimentation that went into the album, aiming to create something that sounds different from past released material, focusing on harmonies and melodies more so than rapping.

We kick it with Krayzie after enjoying a VIP table package at the Vegas Tasting Room and discuss his earlier days before finding fame. While our guest enjoys an Island Sweet Skunk Packarillo blunt, available at the Tasting Room, we get some insights into the groups relationship with Eazy-E, who put them on the map after discovering and signing them to his label, Ruthless Records. Krayzie recalls experiencing what he describes as “overnight success”, scoring a #2 hip-hop record with their debut Creepin on ah Come Up.

It’s clear Krayzie is deeply passionate about music when discussing his advice for the next generation of up-and-coming musicians, reiterating several times that a passion for education is the key to success and longevity. This value has translated to Krayzie’s educational venture in Cleveland, the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Urban Arts Academy, a planned state accredited musical internship program. We also talk about Krayzie’s scholarship with the Cleveland School of Cannabis, aiming to help support minorities gaining access to employment in the cannabis industry in Ohio.

Of course, we also talk cannabis - discussing with Krayzie his entrepreneurial ventures in the cannabis industry, including Leaves of Legend cannabis, Krayzie 8 gummies, and Krayzie Bone x Cannavis THC syrup, with Krayzie promising the latter “will get you where you need to go,” containing 1000mg of nano-emulsified THC. Not only do we get into detail on the stoney products Krayzie has formulated, we also talk Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s controversial Verzuz battle with Three Six Mafia, smoke competitions with Snoop Dogg, the ever-changing soundscape of hip-hop, and Krayzie’s favorite artists this generation - name-dropping Kendrick Lamar, Lil Durk and Dizzy Wright, just to mention a few.
